Puerto Rico Convention Center will be showcased at the LACIME trade show 2004 in São Paulo
WHAT: The Puerto Rico Convention Center, an all-new 580,000 sq. ft. / 53,882 sq. m. convention facility with construction well-underway for a late 2005 opening, will be showcased at the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau Booth at the LACIME trade show in São Paulo.

BACKGROUND: The Puerto Rico Convention Center and the volume of business it will draw to Puerto Rico is expected to redefine the meeting industry on the U.S. Commonwealth Island upon opening in late 2005. The facility will create a singular destination for conventions, trade shows, consumer shows, and congresses that will place Puerto Rico at the forefront of meeting destinations. With its most advanced, state-of-the-art technology in Latin America and its contemporary design, The Puerto Rico Convention Center will house a 152,700 sq. ft. / 14,186 sq. m. exhibition hall, a 39,500 sq. ft. / 3,670 sq. m. ballroom (the largest in the Caribbean) and 12 meeting rooms (divisible into 25 breakout rooms) that total 36,200 sq. ft. / 3,363 sq. m. The Puerto Rico Convention Center will be located on a 113 acre / 46 hectãres site in Isla Grande, San Juan, convenient to Old San Juan, the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, Condado hotels and tourism district.
