ABAV early discloses themes, opens registration for 42nd ABAV Expo lectures

Entity discloses ten more themes to be addressed at the Brazilian Travel Agencies Congress at the Knowledge Village

“We have early disclosed a dozen more good reasons for professionals of the trade to participate in the 42nd ABAV International Tourism Expo, so they can get ready for the event and choose the themes that better correspond to their interests”. With that statement, Antonio Azevedo, chairman of ABAV Nacional, revealed ten more lectures of the already diversified program prepared by the ABAV Certification and Qualification Institute (ICCABAV) for the next Brazilian Travel Agencies Congress, which will gather businessmen, executives and employees.

Given by experts during the first days of the event (September 24, 25 and 26), the lectures will be held between 10:30 am and 3:00 pm at the redesigned Knowledge Village. “We have started disclosing the themes so that those interested in them can register free of charge before July 31,” said Ana Carolina Medeiros, vice-president, ICCABAV.

Below is a summary of the themes and the qualification of the speakers of the second list disclosed by ABAV, with ten new lectures.

Strategic planning applied to travel agencies, from the perspective of the development of professionals working or that will work in this field, summarizes the importance of the lecture “Business Plan for Travel Agencies”, to be given by Marcelo Vilela de Almeida, who has a bachelor’s degree in Tourism, is a specialist in Tourism Planning and Marketing, and has a doctorate degree in Communication Science from ECA/USP.

To maximize revenues by expanding itinerary choices, Carlos Alberto Calmucci, specialist in behavioral training customization for the corporate and lesure travel market, will use his 27 years of experience as an executive of the Flytour Group, Varig and Forward Consultoria e Treinamento, where he is currently an executive officer, in his lecture “Tourism Geography and Creation of Itineraries”.

Focusing on small and medium-sized travel agencies seeking strategies and competitive edges, Julio Verna Neto, a consultant at Qualitas Travel Partner and one of the most in-demand speakers in the industry, will talk about “Travel Agencies Organizing Themselves into Networks and Alliances”.

Highlighting what agency, client, supplier and academy think of travel agents, Lúcia Ferraz, from MTG Consultoria, will use more than 30 years of experience in Business Management, training and specialized coaching services to talk about this professional’s ideal profile, responding to the theme question of her lecture “Profession: Travel Agent! Do travel agents have a future?”.

College professor, member of the Tourism State Council and a graduate in Tourism and Leisure from USP, Carlos Vieira will address the importance image has in the market in his lecture “Image & Product - Prospecting Travel Agencies in the Tourism Market”.

Eluiza Massaro will give the lecture “The Tourism World in the Tourism Geography”. Eluiza has undergraduate degrees in Hotel Management and Events, and Systems Analysis, and a graduate degree in Tourism, and specializes in training on Geography - Destinations, and Tourism Products - Logistics in People Transportation.

In a scenario of increasing competitiveness, the lecture “Being Different Among Equals” will be given by Marcela Candioto, who has master’s degrees in Tourism and Leisure from ECA/USP and Tourism and Planning from UNIBERO, and is a partner at Daura’s Turismo, Circollare Representações Turísticas, and four CVC franchises.

Specializing in developing technical content for publications and websites on tourist destinations, author of the “Agente no Turismo” blog, and co-author of the book “E-turismo: internet e negócios do turismo”, Marta Borges, a consultant at SEBRAE, MTur, ABAV, BRAZTOA, and agencies and operators, will give the lecture “Digital Travel Agency: tools to attract the hyperconnected tourist”.

In the face of the expanded consumer base for air tickets in Brazil and the potential increase in demand for the services provided by travel agencies, Eduardo Sanovicz, former CEO of Embraur, former VP at ICCA, and currently the president of ABEAR and professor of the Tourism Program of EACH-USP, will talk about “The behavior of the first-time customer”. Sanovicz was also responsible for implementing the Aquarela Plan and the creation of the Brasil brand, in addition to being president of Anhembi Turismo e Eventos de São Paulo, and director of the São Paulo Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Roberto D. O. Belleza has been tetraplegic for 19 years. He was a travel agent from 1988 to 2006, assistant secretary for Disabled People and People with Reduced Mobility of the São Paulo City Government, assistant to the presidency of SPTuris. He is currently studying Public Administration. He will speak about “Accessible Tourism - a segment with 40 million people” from the perspective of how a market niche can be responsible for a revenue turnaround in the business.
