Antonio Azevedo has been working for the Brazilian Travel Agencies Association – ABAV since 1989, when he occupied many positions in the entity´s governing bodies, at the Paraná branch. He was elected president of ABAV-PR for the first time in 1997, and managed the Association until 2001. He took over the position once again from 2005 to 2009 – for a total of four tenures. In this period, he coordinated the ABAV-99 Congress and Fair, as host, starting the entity´s itinerant phase. He also conceived the Salão Paranense de Turismo, which is held annually since 1995.

He has occupied many positions at ABAV Nacional. He was a Board member in 1991, a member of the Audit Committee between 1995 and 2009, Vice-President between 1999 and 2003, and the Director of ICCABAV between 2005 and 2011. In addition, he coordinated the execution of programs Proagência I, II and Benchmarking 2010, having a direct participation in the administration of the entity´s former presidents Sérgio Nogueira, Goiaci Guimarães, Tasso Gadzanis, João Martins, and Kaká.

Throughout his career, manager Antonio Azevedo gained great experience in the public and private segments. His former positions include Vice-president of the Business Association and the Regional Administration Board – both in Paraná –, chairman of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce-PR, member of the State Boards of Tourism, of Paraná Turismo, of Eco Paraná and of the Municipal Tourism Board of Curitiba. He also served as Curitiba´s Secretary of Tourism between 2001 and 2003.

He received many awards throughout his successful career. These awards include the title of Tourism Personality of the Year, granted twice by Paraná´s Association of Tourism Journalists – ABRAJE. He was also honored by the Municipal Chamber of Curitiba, the Legislature of Paraná, and the Municipality of Foz do Iguaçu. Antonio Azevedo is currently the partner manager of Eventtour/Paraná Travel, since 1987.
