Travelport stand will be fixed in Hall 4, the company will promote training and also it will raffle 2 iPads in the 40th edition of the Tourism Fair of the Americas – ABAV
São Paulo, October 18, 2012 - Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry and the operator of global platforms of distribution Galileo and Worldspan, will take part in 40th ABAV - The Tourism Fair of the Americas, held in the next few days 24, 25 and 26 October, at the Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro. The fair is organized by the Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies (National ABAV) and is sponsored by Travelport.
Travelport will participate in the event through a stand of 25 m2, located in Hall 4, E street, number G10. The space, thematic, will present to more than 20.000 participants expected by the organizers 4 Travelport products, with special attention to Travelport ViewTrip Mobile, which will be released exclusively at the event.
Travelport ViewTrip Mobile is a free mobile tool of travel management, available to the leisure tourist or business that wants to enjoy the service just like a personal concierge, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It operates combined to the site ViewTrip and offers content via smartphones or iPad, facilitating access to itineraries and other services along the journey.
According to António Loureiro, Managing Director of Travelport for Portugal, Brazil and Spain, the platform features, among many advantages, registration by the user in minutes and consultation to flight status, travel advisories and detailed guides airport.
And the Travelport’s spokesman, regarding the company´s presence at the event, added: "Participating in the 40th ABAV is strategic for Travelport, because it is the most important event of the Americas, where we will have the opportunity to enter into connexion with travel agents from over the country, beyond the international press".
Other products that will be presented at the event are Travelport Smartpoint App, that gives the travel agent increased profit margin and greater productivity through smarter platform and tools.
Furthermore, Travelport will present the tool Travelport Mobile Agent, which allows the agent to access the booking data in rapidly, getting the professional close of his business wherever he is, via smartphone or tablet. The products can also be widely known in the Village of Knowledge, a space oriented to trainings and where Travelport will promote the project 15 minutes that will change your business, in Hall 2, room 2. During the 3-day event, the operator of the global distribution platforms Galileo and Worldspan will present sessions lasting 1 hour, in which the 4 featured products will be presented with duration of 15 minutes each.
On days 24 and 25, presentations will take place from 1 to 2 p.m., from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and from 4 to 5 p.m. On October 26, the presentation takes place from 2 to 3 p.m.
After each presentation, the travel agent participant will win a special souvenir and a coupon for a chance to 2 iPads, which will be drawn on 24 and 25 at Travelport stand at 5:30 p.m. Entries may be held in the Village of Knowledge, in Hall 2, or in Travelport stand, in Hall 4.
About the campaign "For a trade greener"
In 2012, Travelport is the official sponsor of offsetting carbon emissions (CO2) of 40th ABAV - Tourism Fair of the Americas over again, continuing the campaign "For a greener trade."
The campaign consists in offsetting CO2 emissions issued on behalf of the fair and will be supported by Travelport, responsible for planting 641 seedlings, able to compensate the tCO2e (tonnes of carbon dioxide) emitted by the event´s organizers.
And visitors who want to offset the emissions generated by their displacement can also participate in this campaign.
