Travel agents from 11 countries in South America and the United States to participate in business rounds with Brazilian professionalsThe chairman of the Brazilian Tourism Institute - Embratur, Vicente Neto, on September 10 met with the chairman of the Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies - ABAV, Antônio Azevedo. The executives talked about the last details of the “Hosted Buyers Program - International Brazil Caravan,” result of the partnership between Embratur and ABAV for the 42nd ABAV Expo. “This event is considered one of the most important for the tourism industry in Brazil. It also creates opportunities for new businesses with foreign professionals, interested in selling Brazilian products and destinations overseas,” said Vicente.
140 tourism professionals from 11 countries in South America and the United States have been invited for the 2014 edition of the event. “Supported by the Discover Brazil Committees in the South American continent, and executives of the Brazilian Tourism Offices, the goal of this action is to gather international travel agents with local tourism institutions and travel agents in business meetings,” explained Vicente Neto.
“It is important to mention these international tourism operators trips have been important tools for Embratur to promote Brazil in priority countries set in the Aquarela Plan, because they allow for hosted buyers to greatly interact with local professionals. It also expands the relationship with the international production chain, paramount in the process of promoting and selling the Brazilian tourism product,” said Vicente Neto, chairman of Embratur.
ABAV Expo 2014The 42nd ABAV Expo will take place from September 24 to 28, at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavillion in São Paulo, and will gather 3,500 exhibitors and nearly 40,000 professional visitors. “The event will be open to consumers on September 27 and 28 (Saturday and Sunday) when packaged tours will be sold with discounts and promotional prices negotiated exclusively for the event,” said Azevedo.
Vicente Neto also said that in addition to the international hosted buyers program, Embratur will be present in the event with an extensive work program, including institutional contacts, meetings with international professionals, and lectures about themes involving the promotion of Brazil’s tourism overseas. “Once again we will prove the importance of the synergy between the public and private initiatives for the development of tourism in Brazil,” said Embratur’s chairman in his final remarks.
