Spokesman – Antonio Azevedo
Exercising his second term as president of the Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies (National ABAV), Antonio Azevedo is the director of Eventtour, one of the most traditional Paraná travel agencies, based in Curitiba. He joined the organization´s board in 1989 and has since held various positions. In 1997, he was first elected president of ABAV-PR and managed the association until 2001. Subsequently, he returned to preside over the post from 2005 to 2009, a total of four administrations. During this period, he coordinated hosted by the Congress and ABAV Fair 1999, the largest held during the traveling phase of the entity. Also, was the creator of the Paranaense Hall of Tourism, held annually since 1995.
Under the National ABAV, was a counselor in 1991, Fiscal Council between 1995 and 2009, vice president from 1999 to 2003 and director of the Institute for Training and Certification ABAV (ICCABAV) between 2005 and 2011. In addition, he coordinated the implementation of programs Proagência I, II and Benchmarking 2010 and participated directly in the administrations of presidents Sérgio Nogueira, Goiaci Guimarães, Tasso Gadzanis, João Martins and Kaka.
During his career, he accumulated great experience in public and private areas. Among the positions held, he was vice president of the Commercial Association and the Regional Administration Council - both of Parana -, president of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce-PR, a member of the State Board of Tourism, Tourism of Paraná, Paraná and the Eco City Curitiba Tourism. Azevedo was also Secretary of Tourism of the Municipality of Curitiba between 2001 and 2003.
He won several awards. Among them is the title of Tourist Personality of the Year, awarded by the Association of Paraná Tourism Journalists (Abrajet-PR) twice. He was also honored by the city of Curitiba, the Legislative Assembly of Paraná and Foz do Iguaçu city.
Elected president of the National ABAV for the biennium 2011-2013 and re-elected by acclamation for a second term (2014-2015), Azevedo is also a member of the National Tourism Council and joined the advisory board of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
